Description
Thymosin Alpha-1 5 mg and 10 mg
Buy Thymosin Alpha-1 5 mg or 10 mg for laboratory research. Each vial contains thymosin alpha-1 as lyophilized powder, in the labelled amount for the size selected.
- 5 mg: per vial
- 10 mg: per vial
Thymosin alpha-1 (thymalfasin) is a 28-amino-acid peptide with an acetylated N-terminus, originally isolated from thymic tissue and now produced synthetically. It is identified by CAS 62304-98-7.
Choose the size
The 5 mg and 10 mg vials contain the same peptide in different labelled amounts. Neither is a blend.
Despite the similar name, thymosin alpha-1 is unrelated in sequence and function to thymosin beta-4, which is supplied on this store as TB-500. The two are distinct molecules and are not interchangeable.
What the research establishes
Romani and colleagues studied synthetic thymosin alpha-1 in dendritic cells exposed to Aspergillus fumigatus and in mouse models of aspergillosis. They reported that the peptide promoted dendritic cell maturation and interleukin-12 production through MyD88-dependent Toll-like receptor signalling, activated Th1-type antifungal immunity in mice, and protected highly susceptible transplanted mice from infection.
Thymalfasin has also been developed as a medicinal product in some countries. These findings concern thymosin alpha-1 in cell and mouse models under those experimental conditions, not the performance of this product.
Review the COA and product files
COA & Documentation contains the available batch reports and product documentation. Check the lot and strength, confirm identity by mass spectrometry against the expected molecular weight of the acetylated 28-residue peptide (approximately 3108 Da), and note how purity was measured.
The strengths above describe labelled material, not a measured result for every lot. For handling and storage, consult the records that apply to your batch.
