Semax 5 mg and 10 mg
Buy Semax 5 mg or 10 mg for laboratory research. Each vial contains the labeled amount of Semax as lyophilized powder.
- 5 mg: per vial
- 10 mg: per vial
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide, Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro (MEHFPGP), consisting of the adrenocorticotropic hormone fragment ACTH(4–7) extended at the C-terminus with Pro-Gly-Pro. It is identified by CAS 80714-61-0.
Choose the size
The 5 mg and 10 mg vials contain the same peptide in different labeled amounts. Choose by the quantity your work requires; the sequence does not change between sizes.
Semax should not be confused with Selank, which is listed separately. Both are heptapeptides ending in Pro-Gly-Pro, but Selank is built on the tuftsin sequence rather than an ACTH fragment. Modified Semax variants (for example N-acetylated forms) are also different molecules from the peptide described here.
What the research establishes
Dolotov and colleagues studied Semax in rats and measured brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor trkB in the hippocampus. They reported increased hippocampal BDNF protein, increased trkB phosphorylation and higher BDNF and trkB mRNA levels after Semax, together with changes in a conditioned avoidance task, and proposed that Semax acts through the hippocampal BDNF/trkB system.
These findings concern Semax in a rat model under those experimental conditions, not the performance of this product.
Review the COA and product files
The COA & Documentation page contains the available batch reports and product documentation. Check the lot number and strength, that the sequence reported is MEHFPGP without additional modifications, the method used to confirm identity (such as mass spectrometry), the purity method (such as HPLC) and any salt form stated in the report.
The strengths above describe labeled material, not a measured result for every lot. For handling and storage, consult the records applicable to your specific lot.
