Adipotide, also known as prohibitin-targeting peptide 1 (FTPP), is a synthetic peptidomimetic that joins a cyclic CKGGRAKDC targeting motif, through a glycine–glycine linker, to the pro-apoptotic D-amino-acid sequence (KLAKLAK)2. It is identified by CAS 859216-15-2.
Choose the size
The 2 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg vials contain the same compound in different labeled amounts. The sequence, including the D-configured KLAKLAK segment, is the same at every strength.
Adipotide is studied through a different mechanism from the amylin analogue cagrilintide, and it is not a growth hormone fragment like AOD-9604. Those are separate molecules sold as separate products, and data for one should not be applied to another.
What the research establishes
Adipotide was designed to bind prohibitin on the blood vessels that supply white adipose tissue and to trigger apoptosis of those vessels. Barnhart and colleagues studied it in spontaneously obese rhesus monkeys. Over four weeks, treated animals lost body weight and body fat, measured by DEXA and MRI, and showed improved insulin-response measures, while lean animals did not lose weight. The principal adverse finding was dose-dependent injury to the kidney proximal tubules, which largely resolved after treatment stopped.
These findings concern Adipotide in non-human primates under those experimental conditions, not the performance of this product.
Review the COA and product files
The COA & Documentation page contains the available batch reports and product documentation. Check the lot and strength, how identity was confirmed and whether the observed mass is consistent with the cyclized, disulphide-bonded form, and the purity method used (typically HPLC).
The strengths above describe labeled material, not a measured result for every lot. For handling and storage, consult the records applicable to the lot you hold.
