Description
NAD+ 500 mg and 1000 mg
Buy NAD+ 500 mg or 1000 mg for laboratory research. Each vial contains the labeled amount of NAD+ as a dry powder.
- 500 mg: per vial
- 1000 mg: per vial
NAD+ (β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidised form) is a small-molecule coenzyme, not a peptide. It consists of two nucleotides joined through their phosphate groups, one containing nicotinamide and the other adenine, and is identified by CAS 53-84-9.
Choose the size
The 500 mg and 1000 mg vials contain the same compound in different labeled amounts. Choose by the quantity your work requires; the compound does not change between sizes.
NAD+ is distinct from its reduced form, NADH, from the phosphorylated forms NADP+ and NADPH, and from precursor molecules such as nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and nicotinamide riboside (NR). These are separate compounds and are not interchangeable in experimental design.
What the research establishes
In their review of NAD+ biology, Covarrubias and colleagues described NAD+ as a coenzyme for redox reactions central to energy metabolism, and as a substrate for non-redox enzymes including sirtuins, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) and CD38. They summarised evidence that NAD+ levels decline with age in several model organisms, including rodents, and outlined open questions about how NAD+ levels are regulated.
That review concerns NAD+ metabolism in biological systems, not the performance of this product.
Review the COA and product files
The COA & Documentation page contains the available batch reports and product documentation. Check the lot number and strength, that the identity reported is the oxidised form (NAD+), the method used to confirm identity, the purity method (such as HPLC) and any reported water content, as NAD+ is hygroscopic.
The strengths above describe labeled material, not a measured result for every lot. For handling and storage, consult the records applicable to your specific lot.
