Description
Epitalon (Epithalon) 10 mg and 50 mg
Buy Epitalon (Epithalon) 10 mg or 50 mg for laboratory research. Each vial contains the stated amount of Epitalon as lyophilized powder.
- 10 mg: per vial
- 50 mg: per vial
Epitalon is the synthetic tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG), identified by CAS 307297-39-8. It was developed from work on epithalamin, a peptide extract of the pineal gland.
Choose the size
The 10 mg and 50 mg vials contain the same tetrapeptide in different labelled amounts. The 50 mg vial suits work that needs a larger quantity of material from a single lot; the 10 mg vial suits smaller experimental runs.
Epitalon and epithalamin are not the same material. Epithalamin is a pineal extract containing multiple components, whereas this product is the defined four-residue synthetic peptide.
What the research establishes
Khavinson and colleagues added Epitalon to cultures of telomerase-negative human fetal fibroblasts. They reported expression of the telomerase catalytic subunit, increased telomerase activity and elongation of telomeres in the treated cells.
These findings concern a single cultured cell type under those experimental conditions. Much of the published Epitalon literature comes from a small number of research groups, and the results have not been widely replicated independently. They do not describe the properties or performance of this product.
Review the COA and product files
The COA & Documentation page contains the available batch reports and product documentation. Check that the lot number and strength match your vial, that the identity method (for example mass spectrometry) matches the expected molecular weight of AEDG, and which method (typically HPLC) was used to determine purity. Note any counter-ion stated on the report, as salt forms affect the peptide content per milligram.
The strengths above describe labelled material, not a measured result for every lot. For handling and storage, consult the records that apply to your lot.
