Adamax is a synthetic peptide described as a modified analogue of Semax, the heptapeptide Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, which is itself an analogue of the ACTH(4–10) fragment. Adamax carries an adamantane-based modification on the Semax sequence, which is the origin of its name. No CAS number has been assigned.
Choose the size
Adamax is offered in a single 10 mg strength. It is a distinct molecule from Semax and from N-acetyl Semax amidate, and should not be treated as interchangeable with either. Equal milligram amounts of these peptides do not imply equal numbers of molecules, because their molecular weights differ.
Literature values for Semax should not be applied directly to Adamax, because the adamantane modification changes the molecule.
What the research establishes
We have not identified peer-reviewed studies that examine Adamax itself; the published literature concerns its parent peptide. Dolotov and colleagues studied Semax in rats and reported increased BDNF protein and trkB phosphorylation in the hippocampus, together with raised BDNF and trkB mRNA levels.
These findings concern Semax in a rodent model under those experimental conditions, not Adamax or the performance of this product. Whether the additional modifications in Adamax alter receptor activity, stability or distribution has not, to our knowledge, been established in published research, and it should not be inferred from data on the parent compound.
